Course Description
The Yoga Sutra of Patanjali is the foundational text on the science of Yoga: the science of the mind, perception, and empowered mental well-being. This timeless work contains 195 concise sutras organized into four chapters, each offering insight into living with clarity, steadiness, joy, and meaning.
In this series, students will explore:
- Word-for-word translation
- Foundational Yogic theory, including the guna-s and the panca mahabhuta (five elements)
- Micro-to-macro philosophical themes
- Practical applications for modern life and personal well-being
Yoga Philosophy provides a cognitive framework for cultivating vitality, emotional steadiness, deep contentment, and a peaceful, interconnected life. Classes are designed to encourage student-centered awareness, inquiry, and lived understanding.
